Matt Crofts, owner of Next Scene Films (originally Next Scene Famous Films), ensures that every aspect of your wedding film is handled personally—from the initial booking to the final edit. Matt oversees both the filming and the editing process, providing a seamless and personalized experience for each client.

Next Scene Films was founded in November 2008 in Sheffield, England, originally operating under the name Next Scene Famous Films. The company initially focused on creating promotional films for notable organisations, including Sheffield International Venues, Sheffield Hallam University, the NHS, and various local businesses.

In April 2012, the company transitioned to a limited company while continuing to produce promotional films. It was during this time that Next Scene Films began to venture into wedding films, marking the start of its expansion into the wedding industry.

In 2014, the company simplified its name to Next Scene Films, reflecting its growing focus on high-quality film production for weddings and other events. By 2017, wedding films had become the primary focus of the business, and since then, Next Scene Films has filmed over 160 weddings and received multiple award nominations.

Environmental sustainability and charity work are core values for Matt and Next Scene Films. Over the years, the company has donated over £3,000 to environmental charities and planted more than 400 trees, reinforcing its commitment to making a positive impact on the planet.

In April 2023, Matt relocated the business to Musselburgh, East Lothian, where he currently resides.

In 2025, Next Scene Films was honored with the Videographer of the Year award at the Scottish Wedding Awards in Glasgow, a testament to the company's exceptional service and dedication to the craft.
